I like the idea of comparing gay marriage to issues of human rights because it’s difficult for people to argue against wanting human rights for all people. Some of the people that I know don’t have any problem with people being gay, but they don’t think that they should be married because marriage, to them, isn’t something that is categorized as a human right. If you decide to go with this topic, you might end up needing to define human rights in a way that would include marriage for those skeptical audience members.
